Photographer Mykola Denysenko
I'm a professional photographer from Ukraine with a passion for capturing life's most meaningful moments. My background in chemistry taught me precision and attention to detail – qualities that now serve me well behind the camera.
My Journey
What started as casual photography with film cameras evolved into something much deeper when I began working with people. I discovered my true calling in portrait photography, where I realized the profound responsibility that comes with capturing someone's image. Since turning professional in 2009, this has ignited a passion in me – the chance to create what could be the best picture of their life, or at least one they'll be delighted to print and cherish.
Due to the war in Ukraine, my family and I relocated to Catalonia, Spain. While I continue my love for portraiture, I now also specialize in landscape and family photography, drawing inspiration from Spain's beautiful scenery and the precious family moments that matter most. I work as a software developer during weekdays and pursue my photography passion on weekends and evenings.
My Approach
I believe in getting it right in-camera through proper lighting and composition, rather than fixing everything in post-processing. My goal is to bring out natural beauty while keeping every image authentic and genuine.
That said, I love to experiment with photography and push creative boundaries. For personal projects, I'm not afraid to "break the photography rules" from time to time – that's often where the most interesting and unique images come from.
Having worked with everyone from professional models to families who've never been photographed professionally, I've learned how to help people feel relaxed and confident. I use professional retouching techniques when needed, but always with the goal of enhancing, not transforming.
My Setup
I work with professional Canon equipment and portable lighting systems that give me complete control over every shot, whether we're in a studio or on a mountaintop in Catalonia.
